The invention of the Invisibility Hat gave us, students of an art academy, a unique possibility to come into the studio of an Italian artist from the 19th century. We learn how to paint in the Grisaille style, determine the lightness of colors, define the main character in a painting, study composition, paint self-portraits in the style of Etienne de Silhouette and create a model of a workshop. But in order to do all this, we must first learn how to make paints ourselves and for this we have to get into the laboratory of the artist’s friend, an alchemist. There we find out how the invention of paint-tubes and photography changed art forever.
